How to buy and sell tokens on socials.fun.

Trading Phases

Tokens go through two distinct trading phases:

Buying Tokens

On Bonding Curve (Pre-Graduation)

  1. Navigate to the token page
  2. Ensure Buy tab is selected
  3. Enter SOL amount to spend
  4. Review:
    • Tokens you'll receive
    • Price impact
    • Fees (1%)
  5. Click Buy
  6. Approve transaction in wallet

The bonding curve guarantees you can always buy tokens (until graduation) with no slippage beyond the curve mechanics.

On Raydium (Post-Graduation)

After graduation, trading moves to Raydium CLMM:

  1. Trade directly on socials.fun (routes through Raydium)
  2. Or trade on Raydium (opens in a new tab) directly
  3. Or use any Solana DEX aggregator (Jupiter, etc.)

Selling Tokens

On Bonding Curve (Pre-Graduation)

  1. Navigate to the token page
  2. Select Sell tab
  3. Enter token amount to sell
  4. Review:
    • SOL you'll receive
    • Price impact
    • Fees (1%)
  5. Click Sell
  6. Approve transaction in wallet

On Raydium (Post-Graduation)

Same as buying - trade through socials.fun, Raydium, or aggregators.

Price Impact

Bonding Curve

Price impact is deterministic based on the curve formula. Larger trades move the price more.

Small buy (0.1 SOL)  → ~0.1% price increase
Medium buy (1 SOL)   → ~1% price increase
Large buy (10 SOL)   → ~10% price increase

Raydium CLMM

Price impact depends on:

  • Available liquidity in active tick ranges
  • Your trade size relative to liquidity

Trade Minimums

Slippage Protection

Set slippage tolerance in settings:

  • Default: 1%
  • Recommended for volatile tokens: 2-5%
  • Maximum: 50%

If price moves beyond your slippage tolerance before execution, the transaction fails and you keep your funds.

Trade History

View your trades:

  1. Click your wallet address
  2. Select Trades tab
  3. See all buys/sells with timestamps and prices

Real-Time Updates

socials.fun provides real-time data via WebSocket:

  • Live price updates
  • Trade feed showing all transactions
  • Your position value updated instantly

Tips for Trading

Pre-Graduation

  • Early buyers get the best prices (bonding curve)
  • Watch for graduation threshold (~50 SOL)
  • Consider holding through graduation for CLMM liquidity

Post-Graduation

  • Use limit orders on Raydium for better prices
  • Check multiple DEX aggregators for best rates
  • Stake tokens to earn fees instead of selling
